Malik Jabari Rose opened his own restaurant – Malik’s Philly’s Phamous – in September of 2003. Located in San Antonio’s Quarry Market, Malik’s Philly’s Phamous features a full menu with everything from authentic cheesesteaks to 19 flavors of Italian ice. Opened a second location in San Antonio during the 2004-05 season.

Named one of San Antonio’s “40 Under 40” by the San Antonio Business Journal. One of the game’s most loquacious and quoteable players. Attended Philadelphia’s famed Overbrook High School, alma mater of Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain. One of six children. Received his degree from Drexel with a dual major in computer information systems and teacher education. Spent the fall semester of his senior year as a fifth grade teacher.

Plays the tuba, the trombone and the piano. Has a collection of over 1,500 CDs, ranging from rap to classical. Big fan of Martin, Seinfeld and The Dave Chappelle Show. Lists Love and Basketball as his favorite movie. Has his own website: www.malikrose.com.
